A beautiful example of the Rolex Day-Date reference 18238LR in 18k yellow gold, dating from 1991 and featuring a rare champagne dial with diamond hour markers and ruby string decoration. The 36 mm yellow gold case retains thick, well-defined proportions despite having been lightly polished in the past, and presents in excellent overall condition. The original champagne dial is perfectly preserved, complemented by matching tritium hands showing consistent ageing. The E440XXX serial number remains clearly legible between the lugs, corresponding to the watch's 1991 production period. The watch is fitted with a water-resistant red fabric strap and a gold-plated Rolex pin buckle. Powered by the automatic calibre 3155, the movement has been inspected by our watchmaker and is currently in excellent working order, although no documented service history is available. A particularly attractive example of the Day-Date, combining a well-preserved yellow gold case with an unusual and beautifully maintained diamond and ruby dial.
