Rolex
6036 Oyster Dato-Compax "Jean-Claude Killy" Circa 1954

REF: 6036

CHF 210'000 .-

An attractive and well-preserved example of the highly sought-after Rolex Dato-Compax Ref. 6036, dating from circa 1954 and bearing serial number 944XXX. Often referred to by collectors as the “Jean-Claude Killy”, this celebrated triple-calendar chronograph is among the most distinctive and historically important vintage Rolex complications. The original dial is remarkably clean and particularly interesting for its rare configuration, featuring the word “Oyster” beneath the Rolex coronet at 12 o’clock and “Anti-Magnetic” above the 6 o’clock indication. All luminous plots remain visible, although some have lost part of their original luminous material over time. The original hands remain matching. The case retains excellent thickness and well-defined proportions. Both the serial and reference numbers between the lugs remain crisp and clearly legible, and the caseback is correctly stamped 6036. The watch is powered by the Rolex calibre 72C, the manual-winding chronograph movement with triple-calendar indication, which is currently in perfect working order. It is fitted with an attractive riveted expandable Oyster bracelet, reference 6635, with 57 end links, preserved in excellent condition. A particularly appealing vintage Rolex Dato-Compax, distinguished by its rare dial configuration, strong case and well-preserved original components.
