A charming Rolex Date reference 1500, dating to approximately 1988 (R Serial) and coming directly from its original owner. The original box and papers have unfortunately been misplaced. The case has been lightly polished in the past and remains in very good condition, showing only very light signs of wear. The white tritium dial with Roman numerals is exceptionally well preserved, with all lume plots intact and the original hands perfectly matching the dial. The watch is fitted with its original-style Rolex Oyster bracelet ref. 78350 with 557 end links, clasp code M11, showing only light stretch. The original acrylic crystal remains in place. There is no service history, but the movement is currently performing very well, running at approximately +2 seconds/day with an amplitude of 285°. A very attractive and honest late-1980s Rolex Date, distinguished by its unusual Roman numeral tritium dial, single-owner provenance, and excellent mechanical performance.
