A highly attractive Rolex Day-Date reference 1803/9 in 18k white gold, dating to circa 1970 and bearing serial number 3075XXX. The 36 mm white gold case is in excellent overall condition, having been polished in the past while retaining attractive proportions and showing only light signs of careful use. The reference and serial numbers between the lugs remain crisp and well defined, further attesting to the watch's honest preservation. The beautiful original silver tritium dial is exceptionally well preserved, with all luminous hour plots still intact. The tritium has aged to a warm vanilla patina, perfectly matched by the original hands, creating the harmonious appearance collectors appreciate in vintage Day-Date models. The watch is fitted with its original Japanese-made white gold President bracelet, an uncommon and desirable period feature. The bracelet shows only light stretch, entirely normal for a watch of this age. As expected for Japanese-produced bracelets of the period, the clasp is not stamped with a date code, which is entirely correct. For a cleaner and more balanced appearance, the watch is currently fitted with a non-cyclops sapphire crystal. The original Rolex crystal with Cyclops magnifier is available and can be supplied upon request. There is no known service history; however, the watch is running perfectly. Combining its elegant white gold construction, beautifully preserved original tritium dial, uncommon Japanese-made President bracelet, crisp case numbers, and the option of either the current non-Cyclops crystal or the original Rolex crystal, this Day-Date 1803/9 represents a refined and highly collectible example of Rolex's flagship model from the golden era of vintage production.
