An exceptional early example of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 16520, featuring the highly sought-after black “Floating” dial, powered by the Zenith-based caliber 4030. The case is sharp and thick, showing only very light signs of past polishing, and retains excellent proportions. The bezel is also in excellent condition, with crisp engravings — the black enamel within the numerals remains strong and vivid. The original black tritium dial is in beautiful condition, with only minor imperfections near the center of the subdials, a common trait on early floating examples. The hands are perfectly matching. Fitted with its original 78360 all-brushed Oyster bracelet, showing minimal stretch, with 503 endlinks and claspcode P6. The serial number R7XXXXX and reference engravings between the lugs are deep and perfectly legible, confirming an excellent, well-preserved case. The movement has been checked by our watchmaker and runs perfectly. Comes with the set shown in the pictures. A superb and honest early Daytona “Floating Dial” — rare, crisp, and highly collectible.
