REF: 1016
CHF 15'500 .-
An attractive example of the iconic Rolex Explorer I Ref. 1016, dating from circa 1975 and featuring the sought-after MK3 matte tritium dial. The watch is presented in excellent overall condition, with a case that has recently been polished and shows only very light signs of wear. The serial and reference numbers between the lugs remain crisp and clearly defined, while the caseback is correctly stamped 1016. The original matte dial is remarkably well preserved, displaying a beautiful natural vanilla patina on the luminous hour markers and Arabic numerals. The original hands remain perfectly matching, completing the harmonious appearance of this vintage Explorer. The watch is fitted with an attractive period-correct Mexican-made oval-link Jubilee bracelet, showing only light stretch. Although the clasp is not date-stamped, the bracelet is consistent with the period. The movement has recently been serviced by our watchmaker and is in excellent working order. A particularly appealing and well-preserved Explorer I, combining an attractive MK3 dial with beautiful aged patina and a period-correct Jubilee bracelet.
