The present Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph “Kasparov” reference 25860ST.OO.1110ST.01, dating to 2001, is a highly attractive and increasingly sought-after example of the early Royal Oak Chronograph series. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming its sale on 23 February 2001, this watch combines desirable early-production characteristics with an exceptional dial. The stainless-steel case has been polished in the past and shows light wear consistent with careful use, while retaining strong overall definition. The integrated bracelet is preserved in excellent condition and shows virtually no stretch, a highly desirable attribute for this reference. The watch is fitted with its original Mk1 clasp, further supporting its period correctness. The true highlight of this example is its superb electric blue dial, featuring a rich lacquered surface of remarkable vibrancy. The tone is rare and visually striking, closely resembling Klein blue, and gives the watch a bold and distinctive presence on the wrist. The dial shows very minimal signs of wear and remains in excellent overall condition. The hands match perfectly, maintaining a harmonious and cohesive aesthetic. The sapphire crystal presents a very small surface mark near the 18-hour subdial, barely visible to the naked eye and not detracting from the overall presentation. While no service history accompanies the watch, it is functioning correctly at the time of cataloguing. Combining a rare and captivating dial, archival confirmation, and strong overall condition, this Royal Oak Chronograph “Kasparov” represents a compelling opportunity to acquire an early and charismatic example of one of Audemars Piguet’s most iconic modern chronographs.
