The present Rolex Sea-Dweller reference 16660 “Triple Six”, dating to 1983 and bearing serial 733XXXX, is a superb and well-documented example of this important transitional Sea-Dweller reference. Coming from its original owner, the watch was originally sold in Geneva in November 1983 and is accompanied by its original papers, original sales invoice, service box, and numerous Rolex service documents, the most recent dating from 2019. The case has been polished a few times by Rolex over the course of its life and has reportedly not been worn since its last Rolex service in 2019. It is now preserved in top overall condition, with a clean and fresh presentation. The watch is fitted with a black tritium dial in perfect condition, paired with matching hands, creating a highly attractive and coherent vintage appearance. The original bezel insert is also retained, further enhancing the originality of the watch. It is fitted with its original Oyster bracelet reference 93160 with solid endlinks, a key feature of the “Triple Six” generation. The clasp bears code W3, indicating a later Rolex service clasp.
