Created to commemorate one of the most significant moments in space exploration, the present Speedmaster Moonwatch “Apollo 11 50th Anniversary” celebrates the historic Apollo 11 Moon Landing of 1969. Produced by Omega as a highly exclusive limited edition, this reference 310.60.42.50.99.001 was released in 1014 pieces, a tribute to the precise time 10:14 pm (Houston time) when astronauts first set foot on the Moon. The watch is crafted entirely in Omega’s proprietary Moonshine™ Gold, a special 18k yellow gold alloy developed by the manufacture to offer a softer hue and superior resistance to fading over time. The 42 mm case is paired with a matching Moonshine™ gold bracelet, giving the watch both remarkable presence and exceptional finishing. The dial features a grey PVD-treated surface with applied Moonshine™ gold hour markers and hands, while the classic Speedmaster layout displays three chronograph counters. Powering the watch is the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861, a manually wound movement certified to the highest standards of precision, anti-magnetism and reliability. The caseback is particularly notable, featuring a sapphire crystal with a decorative representation of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, further emphasizing the historical significance of the piece. This example is offered as a full set with its original presentation box and papers. According to the consignor, the watch has had only one owner since new, has never been polished, and shows only light signs of normal wear.
